My experience in English classes

Imagen
Hi everyone, today in this last blog I’m going to talk about the English course. This is like the final chapter of this entertaining blog series. English classes at university in general have been quite good since last year, I think that all the teachers have been very willing. And despite all the situation that exists in the whole country, this semester my experience learning English has been very cool.  Although I don't really like the dynamic online, it was cool to see interviews and mini documentaries. But really really the best thing of all was the blogs, because here you could share about your thoughts, experiences and likes, and read the others to get to know them a little. The comments section became a lot of fun with friends and classmates. The comments section became very fun with friends and classmates, sometimes the “Chilean's ingenuity” was noted xd. About my English, I think it is too difficult for me to understand when I have to listen, I must pay close attention...

Postgraduate Studies

Imagen
Well, the truth is that I haven't thought about this much yet, but I am very interested to continue studying after university. So in the hypothetical case to expand knowledge and for the curriculum of anthropological studies, I would like to do a postgraduate study as a Master in Sociocultural Anthropology, this would be at University of Chile in FACSO, and watching the program I'm quite interested in what is related to Sociocultural Theories of modernity and Public Problems. And this all sounds great, but I think time would be a big problem, ideally maybe a part-time course if work is necessary. Also, if I had the opportunity and the money saved, I would like to go outside of Chile, maybe in Spain. I have seen the Autonomous University of Barcelona on the internet and it has 2 magister that I find interesting. One of Advanced Research and Social Intervention that deals with ethnic, class, gender or age inequalities and identities, in their multiple manifestations in time...

My future job

Imagen
Hi, today I’m going to talk about my future job. Well, I’m studying my second year of Anthropology and still discovering what Anthropology is. I will choose the Social mention, I think I would like to work on issues related to public policy. I would like to contribute something to the study related to socioeconomic differences, the lifestyle of immigrants, the digital divide, etc. For this I think that I would do ethnographies in marginalized neighborhoods, remote towns from big cities, and people who live in the countryside to understand social and cultural differences. If I envision something bigger it would be great to work in international politics, and when I'm older it would be interesting to be a teacher. I suppose that as I imagine anthropological work runs both outdoor and indoor, since field work is required but also office paperwork is needed. And I would like to travel to another country for my job, maybe to learn something more or to help in some study. The ...

Favourite Series: True Detective (S1)

Imagen
The truth is that there are many series that I like, but today I will talk about True Detective, the first season specifically for the liking I took for its characters and the way the story was told. True Detective is an American anthology crime drama television series, there are 3 seasons of 8 episodes and each episode lasts between 50 minutes and 1 hour. The story of the first season unfolds on different timelines. The protagonists are two detectives: Martin Hart, acted by Woody Harrelson, and Rust Cohle, performed by Matthew McConaughey (two great actors). The series begins when they are sent to see a murder case, watching the crime scene, Rust realizes that it is not a crime like any other, since the situation seems to be related to rituals and "witchcraft". From the beginning we can see the personality that these characters possess, Marty is a simple man who does not give too much thought. He has a family with two daughters and his wife, but he is unfaithful to her. A...

My quarantine

Imagen
Here in Maipú we have been in quarantine for just over a month. This has affected me a lot because I usually go out to a plaza very close to my house with my neighborhood’s homies.   In my daily routine, if I wake up feeling tired for the day, I like to take a shower. After breakfast, I go to the computer or I see a chapter of a series that I really like (I am currently watching True Detective). Later I eat lunch and I see what I will do in the day, if I will read or see a movie but if I don't make up my mind I only listen to music, I do this every day. Frequently when I'm on the computer I use Discord to play games or talk to my friends. At tea time or “once” I eat with my family, although some days I am not very hungry and I don´t eat, but I still like to drink tea at night. I go to bed when I get sleepy between 2 - 3 am. In my free time sometimes, I play soccer with my boy brother in the yard or I like to spend the afternoon making beats.       ...

"Best vacation ever"

Imagen
This time I’m going to talk about the “best vacation ever”. In the high school with my class we organized a tour to San Carlos de Bariloche in 2016 because that year would be the last with them. So at the end of 2016, first we went to Osorno to cross customs in bus. On the way we pass a restaurant for dinner. The next day we went to customs and we had to wait 5 hours. In Bariloche, the tour organization had prepared a program of activities for a week, like riding in quad bike, go to a chocolate factory, we even practice canopy. And all of that was pulento, but the best thing of all was that we can buy alcohol despite being underage. Those were good nights of drinking and mornings of big hangovers in other country. Back to Chile at customs the PDI use a dog to smell the baggage and just the dog goes to my backpack They might have found krippy but at that time I still didn't fall in the dirty krippy, so I got home safe and sound.

A country I would like to visit

Imagen
This decision is difficult for me because I would like to travel to different places around the world, but if I have to decide for my first choice it would be France. The reasons to know this country is because I feel that is an iconic European country, which I find interesting because the a e s t h e t i c, also the historical events that occurred there like the French Revolution. It is also the cradle of an artistic movement that I like as surrealism as much.             I know that in places like Paris fashion is very important, so I would like to know how this is perceived. France is also the cradle of an important artistic movement, Surrealism. Being there I would like to go to various places like Niza, Toulouse and Paris to see Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum.             I really don't know if I would like to live there, but I would like to study there. I would lik...
